The student Union has recently agreed to set up an English Club. It aims to encourage students to learn English outside of class, to raise English ablities and to create a favourable English-learning atmosphere. During this term foreign experts will give lectures on English and American cultures once a week, and students can meet once a week at the English Corner. Besides, we will also have lectures given on the study of English.

Anyone in the school is welcome to join the club by filling in the related from and providong one photo by the end of this month.

Our first meeting will be held in the school gym at 5:00 p.m. Friday, 21 February, 20ｘｘ.

A lecture about the second experience of the measurement of Mount Everest, is going to be held at Room 201 in the Building 4 from 16:00 to 18:00 on the next Wednesday. The lecture will be given by Prof.Liu,a scientist of China Stafe Bureau of Surveying and Mapping .The height of Mount Everest was 8848.13 after the first mesurement in 1975,and our scientist made a second mesurement in 20ｘｘ.

All who are interested in the lecture are expected .If you have some questions about Mount Everest,you can ask Prof.Liu for the answers.
